An exotic beachside paradise awaits you…
You know the old adage, “You have to see it to believe it”? Well, that pretty well summarizes Ramon’s Village Resort on the island of Ambergris Caye, Belize. “It’s Tahiti just two hours from Houston!” said one guest. “We had no idea something this unique existed except in the Pacific islands!” said another. Styled after the Tahitian cottages on the Polynesian island of Bora Bora, our cabanas (cabins) were built from native materials by craftsmen utilizing the same skill and techniques the islanders used in the days of the great sailing ships.
We’re not a concrete condo or a two-story Holiday Inn encompassed by concrete parking lots, bothersome traffic and noisy revelers. Ramon’s Village is a sanctuary nestled in a tropical garden of Royal Palms, bougainvillea, lilies, hibiscus and dozens of other types of tropical flora. Surrounded by the plant life are Mayan sculptures that provide a glimpse of the civilization that preceded us to this Caribbean paradise. Once inside the village, you’ll be in a world of your own choosing.
Ramon Nunez, the legendary host of Ramon’s Village Resort, and his personable staff are eagerly awaiting your arrival. Once you set foot inside our village they will do whatever it takes to make your stay everything you ever dreamed of and much more!
The Beach at Ramon’s
There are many activities and excursions to choose from, but for some, the beach at Ramon’s is just their cup of tea. With 500 feet of white coral sand and coconut palms you should be able to find the perfect spot to relax with a good book.
The Pool at Ramon’s
Our pool is “the pool of Belize.” There is nothing else like it on our island or in the rest of the country. Protected by the island king, “Rey Ramon,” our pool is home to a 12-foot tall stone outcropping hand-carved by Floyd Moro. The sculpture was carved from stone blocks cast exactly as Floyd’s Mayan ancestors did centuries ago. “Rey Ramon” consumed two years of research, design and construction time. It is a rival to any ancient stella found to date at any archaeological site in Belize. Over eighty feet long our pool is designed with irregular curves, creating coves and peninsulas. Quarry stones perimeterize the irregular shape of our pool and accentuate the jungle lagoon effect you feel when you first see or step into it.
The Pier at Ramon’s
Our pier extends from the beach over 420 feet, enabling our guests to enjoy the invigorating sea breeze and spectacular views of the reef to the fullest. Not only is the pier home to our two dive shops and numerous dive boats, we have a section reserved just for you. If you like to swim or sunbathe, take advantage of the swim platform with ladders leading into the ocean. While you’re in the water be sure to take a look under the pier — you’ll be amazed at what you might see: schools of fish, a canon and two anchors from an old Spanish galleon, …just for starters.
Sometimes it’s more fun to “go out” to dinner. That is definitely not the case at Ramon’s Village Resort. Our on-site restaurant, Pineapples on the beach, is outstanding! The breakfast, lunch and dinner menus all have a wide variety of selections to choose from, in addition to the daily specials. The food is just one reason to come to Pineapples, the location and the view are two more good reasons, but the best reason may be to meet the wait staff—you will love them!
The Purple Parrot Bar
The Purple Parrot features tropically delicious, fresh fruit liquados (smoothies). Healthy concoctions made with nature’s own pineapple, mango, papaya, watermelon, cantaloupe, banana, strawberry and coconut, with optional add-ins for protein, energy, antioxidants or relaxation, make The Purple Parrot the coolest watering hole in San Pedro!

With a fleet of two 28′ and three 34′ canopied dive boats, and one 42′ jet boat, there’s always room for you! Our spacious dive boats are never overcrowded, making you feel like cattle. We treat you special from the time you set foot on our 400′ long dock until the time you say goodbye. With us, you never have to worry about a thing. Ramon’s Village Resort is known as the Jewel of the Caribbean, but our dive guides know that you, our guest, are the real treasure and we will all do our best to give you the best dive experience you’ve ever had.
PADI Certification and Scuba Courses
If you have your own dive gear, bring it. If not, our dive shop is equipped with an excellent selection of gear for sale or rent.
Ramon’s Village Resort is a PADI Gold Palm IDC Resort facility and our Dive Center is Belize’s largest and most respected. A full staff of PADI professional instructors and dive masters ensure a dive experience unequaled anywhere in Belize-—or for that matter, the world! We do accept referrals from other certification organizations such as NAUI, SSI, YMCA and NASDS for completion of entry-level training.
We offer resort scuba courses and if you have time, we can give you the full dose—full PADI certification! You may only need your open water dive to complete your full certification. If so, c’mon, let’s get wet!
Six 24-foot and 34-foot dive boats plus our 42-foot Miss Gina are sure to make your diving fantasies come true!
Snorkeling & Watersports
Some of the best snorkel sites in the world are located just off the coast of Ambergris Caye, so take advantage of a good thing while you can and see as many of them as possible while you’re here! There are many different types of snorkeling trips to choose from. Some sites showcase many varieties of fish, while others are rich with coral. Some trips include a little fishing and a beach picnic, while others include “swimming with the sharks.” Whatever your personal preference, we at Ramon’s Village Divers take pride in helping you select the snorkel adventure that is perfectly suited for you.
If you enjoy sport fishing then you are in the right place! The Barrier Reef provides unsurpassed deep-sea fishing for marlin, barracuda and wahoo. If you prefer light tackle the saltwater flats that surround Ambergris Caye and the out island atolls provide some of the best bone fishing in the world. We have an experienced staff of guides waiting to give you an unforgettable sport fishing adventure.
There are more things to do on Ambergris Caye than just dive and snorkel. Choose one of these tours and enjoy the island!
Want to leave the paradise of Ambergris Caye for a day excursion to the mainland? Why not? Just give the word and we will handle everything for you! Tell us when you want to go and let us make all the arrangements. Or, if you would like to plan your own itinerary, we’ll be glad to fulfill it for you. Belize is world-renowned for its ecotourism and has one of the most interesting mainlands of all the Central American countries. The jungles are lush, the wildlife is abundant and the rivers range from mild to wild.
We highly recommend a river trip. Belize has set aside vast areas of natural forest as sanctuaries for birds, monkeys, jaguar and even the crocodile, making a trip down the river an unbelievable experience that offers rare photographic opportunities to see river life in their natural environments. Belize is also rich in archaeological sites, which reveal their treasures to those who like adventure. Experience one of the most mysterious civilizations of all, the Maya. Excursions to these sites are by car or by river.
When the owners of Ramon’s Village bring their guests down for a visit, the Beach Picnic is always on the top of their “things to do” list!
